This was the second part of an art test where I was tasked with creating a level in Unreal using assets provided by the studio, and setting up the lighting and post effects. I was also tasked with creating a wooden chest asset and incorporating it into the level as well.
The only direction was to "make it look nice" so I decided to try and create a level that could be used as a single player, story driven area as well as a medium to large sized multiplayer map. I tried to use the assets provided in creative and interesting ways, and I had a lot of fun blending all of the ground textures and set dressing the assets to lead the player fluidly around the map between points of interest.
Given more time, I would have liked to create some material and texture variations in Unreal to give more variety to the assets provided.
